Alex Lessard: The Meaning of the Meltdown Catholics@Work is pleased to invite you to breakfast and a talk by Alex Lessard, an expert in wealth management and preservation, on what just happened on Wall Street, and what to expect next. Alex Lessard, VP Investments at UBS Financial Services Inc., has a long and successful experience in understanding the financial markets, and the gift of a natural teacher. Graduating summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas, he also obtained a Doctorate in Systematic Theology and Ethics from Boston College and holds a Masters of Science in Financial Services from The American College. Dr. Lessard will provide an insightful explanation of the factors that lead to the near collapse of the financial markets and will highlight some key lessons from the crisis, and things to watch for in the future. Please join us for what will be a timely talk on the meaning of the meltdown. Please also note that, in keeping with the political calendar, Catholics@Work will also be having its own elections of officers. All members in attendance are eligible to vote. Marie Callender’s Thursday, November 13, 2008 DIRECTIONS: From the 101, take the Victoria exit and head north. Marie Callender’s is located on the left (West) side of Victoria at Gaviota Lane. From the 126, take Victoria exit and head south. COST: $15 Members Please respond by Tuesday November 11th, if possible, to Bill Short by phone at 805.640.7640, e-mail at BillShortEsq@earthlink.net or fax at: 805.640.1940. It really helps for us to have an accurate head count prior the meeting. The Catholics@Work hosts this speaking series to help Catholics close the gap between their faith and their work. The series continues to feature quality speakers who are successfully addressing challenging issues by applying core values found in the Gospel and in the tradition of the Church. We seek members and guests who desire to explore virtue in action and to enhance their families, workplace, and culture. The breakfasts are a great way to network with fellow professional Catholics who are also looking for encouragement, example and leadership.
