Welcome to the Catholic Professional and Business Club of Ventura County – Connecting Catholics in Faith at Work |
The Ventura County Chapter of the Catholic Professional and Business Club invites Catholic professional business men and women to reflect their Christian ethical beliefs in their everyday lives. Members are given an opportunity to share their faith, network, and deepen their relationship with God. Bishop Thomas Curry gave his blessing to the formation of Catholics @ Work and we began meeting in May of 2004. Generally, the breakfast meetings are held on the first Friday of each month, feature a prominent Catholic speaker. Past speakers include Bowie Kuhn, Judie Brown, Carl Olsen, and Ken Howell. The CPBC (Catholic Professional and Business Club) began in Santa Rosa in 1990 and has from there expanded to at least 9 other regions in California. CPBC's have now also been formed in Nevada and Indiana. The meeting format is simple, Mass at 7:10 a.m., a delicious full breakfast at 7:40 a.m., a talk that begins at 8:00 a.m., a prompt conclusion at 8:30 a.m. The success of the clubs in Northern California has been tremedous and is attributable to the consistent high quality of the speakers, as well as the desire of Catholics in business to meet and network with other Catholics and to enrich their own spiritual lives.
